I once saw a report on German television about the transport of a tunnel boring equipment from its manufacturer in Southern Germany to the construction site in the Swiss Alps. They also discussed the preparation (planning the route, consulting with the appropriate authorities, removing traffic signals, removing parked cars, rearranging bus or train schedules, and so on) and the aftermath (covering the damages to the corners of buildings, replacing flower beds, etc.) All of this in a congested area... Amazing!
