Project Snowman Kenworth Ep.16 New Shoes for Bandit-Two

April 4, 2021

On this episode I continue with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason.  If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for “For the money, for the glory and for the fun … mostly for the money”

In this episode we continue progressing the build and tackle the wheels.  I purchased some old take off 24.5’s awhile back and they were very corroded and dirty, however my friends at Spectrum in Edmonton were able to make them look like new again.  Then I had them mounted on some new Mirage tires from Fountain Tire and brought them home to put on the truck.  But first, I had to finish up replacing the crooked yoke I discovered in the last episode.  We also go started on leveling the clay base for my new pole storage shed for my trucks – can’t wait to get this new project started!  Finally I installed the new wheels and have to saw, they look amazing … one step closer

Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions and support!

Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts

Enjoy watching the progress of this Kenworth W900A project, the ongoing Peterbilt 359 restoration and the upcoming #IronDuke Kenworth K100 cabover I’m planning to build up like the one used in the 70’s trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.
